The Ranieri Suite is named after Cardinal Teodorico Ranieri (1235 – 1306), Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church and Chief General of the Heritage Province in 1300, who had the homonymous palace built with an adjacent medieval tower near Palazzo Piccolomini.
The bedroom is characterized by a splendid view of the courtyard of a convent and the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista, one of the oldest in Orvieto. Like many churches on the cliff, it appears to have been built on multiple pre-existing levels, each belonging to different eras.
In addition to the suggestive views, the Ranieri suite boasts refined furnishings and a mezzanine with a spiral staircase that can accommodate an additional bed. The modern bathroom also features a comfortable designer jacuzzi.
